About St. Mary's Church, Ashley

Our church is here for those who have need of it. It is a place where anyone can come and talk to God, feel his presence, share with him their hopes and fears and give thanks.

The church is open daily for all those who want to drop in for prayer or just need space for quiet reflection. Come and experience a peace you had forgotten existed.

Ashley is a small picturesque and historical village. Its name means "clearing in the meadow". It has had a church since the thirteenth century; the present church dates from 1845.

It is a Norman style cruciform building of flint with Bath stone dressings. It has a chancel, nave and turret with one bell. The benefactor of the church was the Marquis of Bute.
