Summer Garden Party - St Mary’s Church Cheveley

With the wine on ice and the food table set, seventy-four people enjoyed a sunny Sunday evening listening to our invited band “Nuts & Boltz”. We encouraged all to buy a raffle ticket as there were more prizes than usual.

As the evening light faded, there were signs that the dancers were eager to show off their skills. Raymond and Brent started off with the quick step swiftly followed by the ladies doing the jive. Others put aside the shyness (thanks to the wine) and did a jig or two to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Everyone left having enjoyed an evening of entertainment in the garden of The Old Farmhouse.

Thanks goes to everyone who helped make the event a great success. To Anne Mary for letting us take over her garden as well as those who put up and took down the marquees. The event raised over £700 for the general maintenance of the church building.
